Default REW blog skin

I am considering having REW skin my blog to be a part of my website. Can someone who has done this tell me the benefits of having this vs the freebie that I currently have on REW?

I know a couple clients have done so.. Justin Havre (justinhavre.com/blog/), Calum Mackenzie (tampahomes24-7.com/blog/) and Joshua Keen (realsourcebrokers.com/blog/)

I like the way they look, skinned into the site. I don't know how different they handle than the REW blogs you get through REW... but I would imagine they are very similar.

The benefits, I think, would be that instead of having to go off your site to find more information and articles you've written, it's all right there on your site. Not to mention it's fresh content being added to your site frequently... which is always a plus in the search engines eyes. They LOVE blogs.

The benefit of getting an REW Blog at REW would be more exposure. The more places you have profiles on the web, the more you're seen, the better it is for leads and such.

Hey Nick - I know this question is better suited for word orders section, but what does it cost to add a word press blog or similar to my REW site. Since you guys started this thread...I thought Id throw that in to the discussion. I will be ordering a blog upgrade at some point and will go to the work order area when ready. But...since were chatting about it...price?

Putting your blog on your website is the way to go. Eventually hundreds and hundreds of new pages on your website showing google it is an active site with stickiness--lots of topics/articles for readers who see tags at the bottom of each post that allow them to read articles on similar subjects. Really helps make you an authority. It may take longer to rank high for the posts unless you already are doing well with G. And your blog can eventually rank for the keywords you are wanting--not just individual page--but the homepage of your blog can rank well. Google "arlington va condos" or "clarendon condos"

Good luck!

OK, So I am looking to change the front page on my site. I love most of the custom work REW has done, but I have also yet to start blogging. Why? Well, I sped a fair amount of time here, on FaceBook and any number of other forums.

So I am thinking two lines of thought. One is to "skin" a blog to my web site(like I know what I am talking about, ) and place it on a portion of the front page. Another is to make a more impressive front page and put the blog inside.

I am leaning toward the first option because I feel that the number 1 reason people go to your site is to look at houses. I have that solved with the Quick Search, Map Search and Featured Listings (which I also want to change to a slide show on the front page). I feel the second reason they go there is for info on the "subject of the day" ie: What did they hear on the news today?

Am I right in thinking that a Front Page blog will both increase my ranking and retain surfers?
