At our annual Board of Realtors awards meeting I learned that Billy Brescia is the oldest active Realtor in the U.S.  according to NAR records.     He is truly an amazing man as he is very active in Real Estate and our Board of Realtors right now.  Let me give you some facts.

1) Billy is 91 years old

2) He was licensed in 1947 (61 years ago)

3) GAR Director for Life

4) Past Golden Rule award winner

5) Extemely Active in GARPAC

6) Active Board member on the local and State level

7) Past Realtor of the Year

On top of all that - he is one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet.  Occasionally you meet people that you would like to model your life after - he is one of those people.

If you want an experienced REALTOR - this is your man!

Wow, I bet he has some stories.  I can hear him now, 'Yeah, sonny, back in MY day, we had to WALK to the closing table, 10 miles uphill each way, in the SNOW, and we LIKED it."  Followed by..."My first sale was the trailer down by the river, my commission was $32, and I bought a used car with the money, which I powered with moonshine, and then I sold the cat house down by the tracks, when the madam got thrown in the clink, and all the girls asked me if I could give them a job passing out flyers, but I didn't have a typewriter."

You go Billy! Most aren't blessed enough to reach 91 years of experience, let alone be all together when they get there.

He really is a cool guy.    When I say he is an active Realtor I mean he is in the office daily.  If we have an agents open house - he typically comes to it.   Lists and sells Real Estate.   Donna is an executive board member and she says he is at all the Board meetings and is an extremely valuable advisor.    He is also devoted to his wife.   Just an unbelievable guy!

@ Lydia - That is pretty funny!    I was one of those late chidren ( born when my dad was 46) and he had the stories about walking thru the snow up hill both ways.   He lived in North Georgia and one day I said - you know it really doesn't snow that much down here.  It ticked him off and he said it snowed more back then.     I did notice though that the house he lived in as a child is on one really large hill and his school was on another really large hill (close to Amicolola Falls) so you had to go down to the bottom of the hill and back up the other one to get to the school and same thing coming home.   So.....I guess he really did have to walk up hill both ways.
