Falmouth Maine real estate overview

The town of Falmouth just to the North of Portland offers coastal living as well as rural opportunities. With a population of about 11,000 and one of the most desirelable zipcodes to call home in Southern Maine, there is not much of a downtown persay but only 5 minutes from downtown Portland the location is quite desireable. Strong school districts, some of the top in the state, home to Portland Yacht Club and top area restaurants such as the Falmouth Sea Grill. In 2008, 140 homes sold at a median price point of 394K. The current trend in the market is higher volume and lower prices, but over the past few months the Maine housing markets have stablized signifcantly.
