As the leaves continue to fall off the trees in Maine, the real estate markets of Westbrook Maine continue to chug along.  Located to the immediate west of Portland, for the 3 months ending September 2009, 56 homes sold at a median price point of 187K. Ironically this is the same exact amount of homes that sold in 2008.  Median prices are down from a year prior 6%, which is better than the approximate southern Maine residential real estate average of about 10% give or take.  Like many parts of the country, the first time homebuyer continues to help this communter market of Portland out significantly. 

  Currently there are 179 homes on the market in the residential Residential Falmouth Maine  market offered at a median price point of 489K.  The town of Falmouth just to the North of Portland offers coastal living as well as rural opportunities.   With a population of about 11,000 and one of the most desirelable zipcodes to call home in Southern Maine, there is not much of a downtown persay but only 5 minutes from downtown Portland the location is quite desireable. South Portland is located just across the million dollar bridge from Portland and often overlooked as a great alternative to in town Portland living as it can be quicker to get downtown from many areas of South Portland than it can from the outer extremeties of Portland.  Homes in South Portland can be found as low as 130K, but this price point is generaly the foreclosures and short sales  Currently there are 140 homes on the market with a median asking price of  240K.   The Willard Beach location is one of the finest neighborhoods in the region with a local beach and marina within walking distances coupled with a strong sense of community.  South Portland is also home to the only mall in Maine aka the Maine Mall as well as many  of the states largest…
