I've often wondered how many transactions per year some of the top producing buyers agents are able to accomplish?  It seems that on the listing side an individual (superstar) can close over 100 transactions yearly.  Is this even remotely possible for individual buyers agents? How about 50 transactions?

Here in the Charlotte Real Estate market my experience has been that closing over 35 transactions yearly is busting it!!  You literally have no life.  I think doing 25-35 transactions yearly provides a decent income and also time off etc. Depending on the market and broker splits etc doing 35 transactions should give you an income of approx 100k-125k. Some agents might make more and some less.

Here's my little story of when I relocated to Charlotte North Carolina some years ago.  My father who really keeps up on things recommended I use a "buyers agent".  Did I listen?  Nope!!  What I decided to do was flip through the pages of one of the home magazines and pick the hottest agent I could find to show us properties.  I would not suggest this method especially if you are married lol. This agent worked for one of the larger national franchises.

On arrival to Charlotte we met this agent and were quickly informed she would not be showing us properties.  We would be going out with her brand new "buyers agent" to view homes.  Great!! At least Dad would be happy we were working with a buyers agent.  In hindsight,  the first clue that things weren't…

The real estate market in Matthews North Carolina always seems to be a popular choice for families relocating into the Charlotte area.  There are many different factors that drive the growth. The proximity to Charlotte allows for a relatively short commute in todays age of about 30 minutes.  The biggest draw for Matthews is the vibrant community and strong schools.  A great example of this will be taking place over Labor Day weekend as it kicks off the "Matthews Alive" festival.  This is one of the Southeast's largest festivals and parades. Ok, so I don't work all the time. One of the greatest things about being a real estate agent is getting to play tons of golf  Charlotte has so many awesome golf course communities and the weather allows for year round play. Luckily,  the last few years I've been able to score tickets to the Wachovia Championship played at Quail Hollow CC here in Charlotte. I'm still in awe of how far Tiger Woods can hit a drive!!  Home prices in golf course communities start from as low as the $150k range into the millions.
