Hawaii is said to be a year or so behind the Continental United States with current trends in the real estate market. With that in mind let's take a look at the year to date sales with Hawaii Short Sales in Honolulu County. 

There were 108 single family home short sales sold this year with 50 of them in the Ewa, Ewa Gentry, Ocean Pointe areas alone. The Ewa Gentry, Ocean Pointe areas have the highest number of bank owned & short sales on the island of Oahu. (HONOLULU COUNTY). There are currently 184 single family homes listed as short sales and 88 currently in contract and pending.

If you have the time to wait for the bank to approve the offering price and the contract  terms (4-6 weeks or more) and then another 45-60 days to go through the transaction /loan process then you may just find a great deal in a .Hawaii Short Sale. Just keep in mind that as a Hawaii Home Buyer the bank may not do any repairs, pay for pest treatment, surveys, association docs and so forth.
