Hawaii VA Loan Information - Delays in Appraisals and Recording

Update for the Hawaii VA Loan and Hawaii Real Estate process:
1) The turn around time for Hawaii VA Loan Appraisals are taking up to 5 weeks on the island of Oahu due to the 'volume' of VA Loans in progress at this time. As a Hawaii Home Buyer you can be proactive and start your loan application process to get preapproved immediately!
2) The Governor imposed a three Friday a month furlough (no pay) on State Government employees and our Bureau of Conveyances is one of those departments. When escrow receives funds from the lender they take all documents for recording to the Bureau of Conveyances. By the next morning they recorded the deed. NOW>>> it will push it back two days to record and possibly more.
If all involved in the transaction (Realtor®, Loan Officer, Escrow Officer etc) work together as a team and get things done in a timely manner it is still possible to record your Hawaii Home within a 45 day period.
