Blogging for the Sake of Helping Others

I find myself becoming the center of all things in the office...probably because I try to teach everyone the benefits of sharing their talents with others in the office and dedicated alot of my own free time to help people.  Because of this, I have become somewhat involved in other peoples lives.  I know things about people that for whatever reason, they kept private but were looking for a vessel to unload stress that was building up regarding their issues.  I have one agent in the office, I would now call my friend, which has been struggling with dealing with a disease that his young son has been dealing with since birth.  His son has Congenital Glaucoma.  I do not know much about this disease other than the fact that his young son of 2 years old has it and he has to have an operation to relieve pressure building up behind the eyes.

Due to this, he questions everyday why this is happening to himself and to his young son.  The reason I write this blog is because even though he is a proud person that is trying to deal with this situation on his own, I introduced him to blogging in one of my classes in the office.  He had heard about blogs but did not understand much about it although he tried his hand at it a year or 2 ago.  We walked thru how to setup a free account, how to change the look and functionality of it, then it was up to him to just write about whatever he is passionate about.

The Blog became his therapy as he has poured hours into blogging about his son and what he is going through with hm and his wife regarding their son.  I have noticed a slightly less stressed person now in the office although I don't expect it to take all of the pain away.

I am glad to have helped him even in a small way but will never completely understand what he goes through on a daily basis.  I just hope someday he can find the meaning in all of this.
