You only have one chance to make a first impression on the Internet

I think the old adage, "you only have one chance to make a first impression," is as true on the internet as anywhere. We really do only have one chance to make that first impression, and in the business of real estate today, that first impression is often via the Internet, and in particular via a website.

Which is why we want our website to offer the most information and in the most accessible format to prospective customers. To this end, we recently jumped on the bandwagon to upgrade from a standard REW template website to REW's latest and greatest LEC 4 limited edition custom site. I have to admit that I am thrilled to have finally made the move. I think that when customers see our website, they quickly recognize the depth and quality of information that is available to them.

Not only does this improve the customer's experience, the volume of leads that we are getting has gone up, and we are attracting higher end clients, which has been one of our long term marketing goals. I think that the LEC's sophisticated design, combined with the enormous amount of local content we have written (120+ pages and counting), makes it immediately clear to a prospective customer that we are committed to excellence.

Now this gotten me thinking, what can we do to impress people for that first impression offline?

Some ideas:

• Dress well
• Be calm and kind when speaking
• Keep the car clean
• Have a clear plan of action
