Under the Weather?
While the U.S. suffers through a bad cold and flu outbreak and many are feeling under the weather (like me), Under the Weather never felt so good and Pinehurst’s rain this week is truly ‘God Sent’ and with his continued blessing we will continue receive our share.
Two systems brought a substantial amount of rain and while Pinehurst is probably still down for the past year we are in far better shape now then anytime I remember in the past 9 months.
Divine Deliverance?
We pray, and request others to pray with us, that the Southeast portion of the U.S. begins to recover from a devastating drought and the rain continues here in sufficient quantity to lift us out of it.
Golf Anyone? Rain is good for Golf
You probably know the Pinehurst area is known for Championship Golf Courses, with over 40 golf courses plus the equestrian opportunities. However both require substantial quantities of water to be at their best and with this weeks rain total we are well under way to recovery if it keeps up.
With well over a 1,000,000 visitors to the Pinehurst Golf area a year, there is no wonder we are known as the 3rd most popular Golf destination in the World.
Perhaps with the news of the drought you considered putting off your annual trip to Pinehurst for fear the Greens and Fairways would be more like a sand dune then a Championship Golf Course. Do not worry, most have been maintained well during the winter and with the recent rain they are in great shape for this time of the year.
Is it time for Your Visit to Pinehurst?
Annually many Golfing vacationers end up purchasing a Golf Front Home, Condo or Townhouse in the Pinehurst area to either use as income property when they are not here, or as a second home to retire to when that day arrives. You know it's funny, I have always spelled it "four!" I was actually looking around in your area lately Don sinse I have met you, and what a beautiful place. I am horrible at golf and I love it! (Love golf not being horrible at it) - Aaron our programming director and I get out whenever we can (He beats me every time) - I hope to one day get a chance to come down and play a round or two in your area, maybe I can talk Aaron's wife into letting me bring him - but man to live in such a golf mecca, I envy those of you who have the chance to make the move. Great post.
