Blogs + Listings Bugtracker

Posted Dec 11, 2007 @ 2:20 pm, Viewed by 499 Visitors, Read 502 Times.
Hey guys-- thanks everybody for the blogs feedback! We did expect some bug reports over the first few weeks and I've seen some being reported. I am going through some of the threads on the forum to find out what needs to be addressed (but) I'm afraid I might miss some of these. If you've found an error or display bug, could you please post as a comment to this thread and we can prioritize as we go through.

Please reserve this for actual bugs, we'll start a separate post for feature requests later.

Thanks!

Great idea, Phil! http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/blogs/calgary-realtor/listings/8/ The only display bug that I could find is with the Categories dropdown: there is an extra ">" on each line.

Thanks, Kim. Fixed.

Note to Self: Average Rating should be N/A or something if NULL

Also, when I refresh the page I am noticing the dropdowns show up for a second (in all 3 browsers). Perhaps that is jquery workaround for this?

Thanks--Not really a bug, but a few people have mentioned it. So now they are hidden from the get go--same thing for the post tools (rate, social bookmarks, share)

This one is for Mikey - On the main page, in the green section (When logged in) the "Stats" link does not work, it should take the user to their specific stats screen.

Posted 2 years ago

That should be fixed now Eric - can you confirm? Also a note to everyone, can you please report which browser you are viewing these errors in, as it helps the team greatly. And thank you to everyone for helping out reporting bugs

Here's the error: Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /var/www/vhosts/realestatewebmasters.com/httpdocs/blogs/pages/blog/showpost.php on line 342 Also, Unordered lists aren't, umm....unordering??? There is no bullet or indent. i'm using eveyones favorite, IE7

Couple of things - 1/ Check the formatting (IE7 only .... FF looks fine). Most of the fonts are huge, and all the blog summaries (except the top two) also have fonts that are large *and different from the normal fonts*. I also saw this on a computer (not mine) running IE6x 2/ Page error(s) using IE6 ... . Again, this was on someone's laptop running IE6x. I showed them my blog, and once there, they tried to email themself an article, and found the entire page locked up *not responding messages*. Repeated attempts to email / comment resulted in page not responding (>> Ctrl-Alt-Del) 3/ Square footage and bathrooms still not showing / correct on listings

@ericbadgley. Yep, It was remedied yesterday afternoon, so you would have still seen it in the morning. I'll look into the IE7 UL thing.

Posted 2 years ago

@ericbadgley - uls/ols are now fixed @Calgary Agent - Although fonts are appearing a little larger in tables, I can't duplicate this problem in IE6 or IE7. *and different from the normal fonts* A lot of these problems are from people copy & pasting from Microsoft Word. We are examining a few different options to remedy this. I am afraid that in the end, we may have to take away much of the formatting with a parser, because of the few authors that misuse (or abuse) them.

Doesn't it strip formatting when you paste?

Posted 2 years ago

@ Phil - none of the blog posts I'm referring to (mine) were ever written or copied from WORD. They all appeared perfectly nomal on the old blog. If you can provide me your email I'll shoot you a couple of screen shots .....

actually it was doing it earlier today, then after I posted, I got a email saying that a new post came in it was yours, they no longer stay down. this was ie7

Posted 2 years ago

In short, No. There's a delicate balance there that we need to achieve. Right now we're striping potentially harmful code (onclicks etc.), but much of the formatting is left alone. We also have to issue of dealing with old posts (pre re-do) as well as the new ones. The markup from some of these posts are malformed, so a regular xml parser would simply choke.
