Considering Google Maps Enterprise Support and Licensing At REW

So how much would it cost? We don't know yet, but it is looking like it will be just under $.01 per geocode.
For the average IDX customer this does not mean a huge expense, but it would mean an expense nonetheless. Lets say you have 5000 listings in your MLS - that would mean the initial geocode session would cost $50.00 USD and lets say there are 300 new listings per week, that would mean $3.00 USD per week. Not a huge cost, but a cost. So my question to REW IDX customers is "At the cost above, would you be interested in greater support and flexibility for your Google mapping IDX systems?"
One thing to consider is the cost savings on development. Using the current free API license, we sometimes have to get a little creative in order to map all of your listings initially, and this can mean an hour or two of extra coding time (Billing as you know is $100 USD)
To me this is a no brainer, and I will likely be making this commitment to partner with Google, but only clients that opt in and are willing to pay the usage fees will have access to any advanced functionality provided under the license and the enterprise level support from Google.

I am a new REW IDX customer, and I really like the work you guys did on my site. Going Enterprise seems like it would open up a lot of possibilities that I would love to take advantage of. Our MLS isn't huge, so I imagine that the benefit would far outweigh the cost.

Large Mls's seem like they could get pretty pricey. The functionality would definitely put you ahead of the crowd. I would love to see it in action.

Hey Morgan: more info on what it would take for my site. I don't have any mapping yet. The only concern i have with sites with mapping, is it take a long time to load.
We're in for anything that can be customized and puts us ahead of the competiton for IDX. Our REW map search is a huge success with our visitors.
If this means a greater and more accurate geocoding success rate I'd be in.

John, you do not have to wait until Google enterprise to have mapping integrated into your IDX, if you are interested in upgrading your IDX with Mapping, send me an email, I can give you a quote on that

I found Yahoo's geocoder to be more accurate than Google's. Not sure why. (This is for getting latitude/longitude from a street address.) Might be worth checking this for yourself before you spend moeny.

But the article does not really say what flexibility you will be offering? Don't mean to sound negative, just trying to understand exactly what benefits there are?
Hey Morgan, I already have the custom IDX and google mapping that you did for me, and I think it's great. Is what you are talking about here different than what I currently have and if so, what is the difference?

I would love to incorporate it into my custom IDX. It is a minimal cost for something that should put you above the curve when comparing to most of the competition. Most of the mapping technology out there that incorporates IDX have advertisements all over the pages.These advertisements make the pages very cluttered and takes away from the overall design and function. That is just my opinion
