Why are we doing this?

It's pretty simple really - The Real Estate Webmasters community has the most knowledgeable and friendly members of any Realtor community online. Because of our members we have learned so much about the real estate world and Realtor technology needs, which helps us develop high quality products and services.

We like to think we are able to contribute to their success as well, by teaching them about technology, search engine optimization, lead generation and internet marketing strategies - it truly is a partnership.

We want more great members so that we can learn from them (and they from us) and if we end up exposing our products and services to a larger audience in the meantime, then so be it. The point being is that everyone benefits from their involvement in our community, and the more members we have, the greater pool of knowledge and the more diverse the perspectives available, which leads once again to even stronger membership and more successful members.

What is truly amazing is that students have become teachers, teachers have become students and many if not all have built relationships (in business) and true friendships <<< this is the most valuable thing about our community. We now have Realtor members who can legitimately call themselves search engine experts. We have programmers who understand the needs of a real estate buyer relocating across the country. We have literally thousands of people all working together to better themselves in both their success in business and as people - it's an awesome thing to behold - and we want others to experience it.

Some resources you will need:

REW Stimulus forums - we have set up discussion boards specifically for this event. If you have questions about the contest or want to collaborate with other participants, we encourage you to be as active as you can in the forums - they will be an invaluable resource.

REW Blogs - you need to have an account here in order for us to be able to assign you credit for your referrals. Once again, they are free (and you really should already have one and be blogging - for shame!) so don't dawdle - claim your blog.

Terms of service - you should be aware of them and you should make sure your referrals are aware of them. We are a much higher quality resource than some of those other FFA blogging platforms and we have a team in place to ensure the highest standards of participation (search engine spam, link spam, comment spam, shameless self promotion, you name it - you will not find it here) - nothing but quality interaction from quality people. The forum rules are right here and the blogs TOS can be found right here. It's pretty simple though - on the forums & blogs, respect members regardless of difference of opinion and don't excessively self promote or spam. Quality vs quantity is all we request.

Know your blog username (and make sure your referrals know it too)

Your blog username is the name that appears in the top right hand side of your profile on your blog - mine is "Morgan Carey" as can be seen in this post in many places included right above my profile picture (top right).

When you refer people to Real Estate Webmasters - (to join the forum, blogs or become a customer) the way you are given credit for the referral is by them referencing you as the referrer by blog username - thus we look for "I was referred by (user name)" in either their post in the introductions forum (if forum referral) - their first blog post (if blog referral) or their contact form submission (if customer referral). I wrote a basic "sample invite letter" that you can feel free to use (and modify) to suit your needs - or you can write your own.

The Real Estate Webmasters community is already incredibly strong and diverse. This is not about maintaining or conserving momentum - this is about "advancing" our already great community to the next level of participation for the benefit of all Real Estate Webmasters members. It's also a great fun (and competitive) way to practice your relationship and social network building which we all know are vital in today's successful Realtor toolset.
