Kennesaw, GA: A Wonderful Place to Call Home

Kennesaw, Georgia is located in Cobb County, about 20 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta. Kennesaw is one of Cobb County’s smaller cities with a population of around 32,000 (2000 Census Bureau estimate). Kennesaw was recently voted in on a list of “25 Most Uniquely American Cities and Towns” by Newsmax Magazine. The magazine rated cities across the country based on a combination of nine categories, including hospitality, wholesomeness, family-friendliness, and community activities to name a few. Newsmax chose Kennesaw because of its schools, green space, family-friendly amenities, and low crime rates. In 2008, Kennesaw was chosen by Family Circle Magazine as one of “Ten Top Places to Raise Your Family”.

I can tell you whole heartedly that each of the magazines voted Kennesaw in correctly. The schools here are some of the best in the state, consistently ranking well in both academics and sports. The green space part is true as well; Kennesaw is home to around 130 acres worth of parks, including the 42-acre Swift-Cantrell Park, and 33-acre Adams Park. Both parks offer many different types of recreational use as well as family events, such as free outdoor movies at Swift-Cantrell, and a local Famer’s Market that comes weekly to Adams Park.

Kennesaw is currently home to the filming of a reality TV show called “Block Party”. Eight families in the Annandale section of Legacy Park are filming through mid-July for the series that will be featured on CBS. I think it’s pretty cool for such a popular Kennesaw subdivision to be featured on a series on national TV! I know I’ll be tuning in. I also think it's great press for Kennesaw Real Estate -- national exposure for one of Kennesaw's most popular neighborhoods and a spotlight on the city...you can't get better exposure increasing Kennesaw's desirability than that!

So, in a nutshell, there are many reasons Kennesaw is considered a great place to call home. Visit Kennesaw today – you just might find YOUR reason to call Kennesaw home!
