Affordable Homes in Pinellas County

Things have changed a lot in Pinellas County relating to homes prices.  I'm sure that this same story could be told in many other areas of the country, but Pinellas County is special and many people - just a few years ago - were thinking that they would never be able to buy a home here.  The fact is that homes prices were rising so high that people started looking toward Pasco County and Hernando County for new construction and better home values in existing homes.  Now, there's nothing wrong with Pasco or Hernando County, and there are some great deals to be had there.  But if you work in some of the more employable areas like Clearwater or Tampa, drive time to and from work may be a little more than most people want to deal with.

Also, it's no secret that some of the most beautiful beaches in the United States are in Pinellas County.  This one fact makes property in Pinellas County so much more desireable than other areas surrounding the Tampa Bay area.  Take a look at the map.  As you can see, just about anywhere you live in Pinellas County - you are only minutes to the beach.  There is virtually beach after beach all up and down the west coast of Pinellas County.

But now, with our buyer's market, home prices have come down.  Many people are finding that they can get now find affordable real estate in Pinellas County.  For example, there are many homes well under $300,000 in the East Lake area - which was non-existant just 2 years ago.  In fact, one of my agents just sold a home in the Ridgemoor area for $185,000.  Waterfront condos on Clearwater Beach are priced to sell, and sell they will.

This is a great sign for our economy, as well as for relocation customers.  People who have put their "moving to Florida" plans on hold, should start packing!  Many of them come for the sun and fun at the beach whether they are buying a second home or they are moving here, they want to be close to the beach.  And, now the dream is a reality.  Yes, you can find affordable homes in Pinellas County - many of them.
