Tampa REO Tips - A Gold Mine Or A Bust?

With the market trending toward lower prices for homes, many terms appear that may not be fully understood by the public.  One term in particular is REO.  A Tampa REO is a property owned by the bank (Real Estate Owned by the bank).  Banks are in the market to manage money, rather than properties.  It is a good bet that a bank that owns property is attempting to sell the property as quickly as possible and may offer an attractive purchase price to a prospective buyer.  There may be some things to know before digging into an REO.

Tampa Foreclosure - What Does It Mean?

The correct definition of foreclosure, unbeknownst to most people, including those in the real estate business is this - The legal process by which an owner’s right to a property is terminated, usually due to default.  Typically involves a forced sale of the property at a public auction, in which the proceeds are applied to the mortgage debt. Foreclosures and bank owned properties are not the same thing.
