     Al Capone's former hideout / former tourist attraction sold on the court house steps in Hayward Wisconsin.  Chippewa Valley Bank was the only bidder, it was also the bank that foreclosed.  Capone's retreat in Northern Wisconsin featured 18 inch thick stone walls and guard towers.  Nine separate buildings on the property also included a bunk house and a jail.   The property sold for 2.6 million dollars.

     Sawyer County Wisconsin has much more to offer than Capone's Hideout.  The northwoods are beautiful and relaxing.      I just saw a CNN report on the Atlanta area real estate market and it did not look good.  Primarily new construction and developments in the areas surrounding Atlanta were hit very hard.  Partially developed  subdivisions with more empty lots than finished homes are everywhere, north south, east and west of Atlanta. I have visited several distressed subdivisions in the southern region of metro Atlanta,  Fayetteville was hit particularly hard, but no areas were immune to the empty lot syndrome.  Other cities in Georgia are dealing with similar issues, but on a much smaller scale.

     Since we are located right on the border of Georgia and Alabama and because many agents in the area are licensed in both states, I felt it important to pass on the news of the Alabama Real Estate License Law Amentment regarding Advertisement.

     Advertising rules were based on "letter sizing", this rule was impractical to enforce because measuring became too complex an issue.  The amended rule stipulates that,  "a salesperson or associate broker will be considered in compliance with the license law adverising regulation, if the name of their broker or company is prominently enough displayed that it can be read and understood."

   Georgia News:  Columbus Ga Homes, Fort Benning, Phenix City Real Estate.  Housing and Urban Development Secretary Donovan  awarded a $14,540,363 grant  to 11 grantees in Georgia.  Muscogee County and Columbus received $740,907, to re-house families who  fall  into homelessness and  to prevent them from becoming homeless in the first place.

   The Homeless  Prevention and  Rapid  Re-housing  Program is intended to help those  families that  need  finacnial assistance on a short  term  basis.  Families who have encountered  hardships  that  would  cause  them  to  become  homeless or are being  forced  to  live  in  a shelter  or on  the  streets  can  now  receive rental assistance  for up to 18 months.  State assistance is not  limited  to rent  but…
