Madison New Jersey 07940:
This quaint college town with a population of 16,000 is just 30 miles west of midtown Manhattan. Known for having a great public school system and a charming downtown, Madison is a draw for professionals commuting into New York City or to one of the many nearby prestigious multi-national corporations including Nabisco and AT&T. Downtown Madison offers many restaurants, cafes, shops and a movie theater.
Madison NJ is also home to two universities; Drew University and Farleigh Dickinson University, providing numerous cultural and athletic events to enjoy. Drew's campus is home to the professional New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, the United States Field Hockey Center, and the Charles A. Dana Research Institute for Scientists Emeriti (RISE).Fairleigh Dickinson is New Jersey’s largest private university. The University offers over 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including doctoral programs in clinical psychology and in school psychology, and an AACSB-accredited business school.
By car, Madison is easily accessible from major interstate highways Routes 287, 78, 95 and the Garden State Parkway. Madison offers train service via the MidTown Direct and Hoboken lines into Manhattan. Madison is also just a short drive to Morristown and only 20 minutes from the headquarters of the U.S. Equestrian Team and the U.S. Golf Association.
August 10th update: Home prices in the Madison NJ Real Estate market have stabilized. The home buyers have returned to the real estate market, but we remain in a buyers market. Homes which are priced properly & marketed professionally will sell for a fair value. Homes which are over priced & or marketed in the old ways likely will sit on the market & not get offers at all. The latest public surveys show that 82% of home buyers are doing almost their entire home search online. If your home is not where the home buyers are looking, it will be harder to get a top sale price for your home.
