Money Magazine has an article in there November 2007 Titled “You Own It. You Sell It Be your own real estate broker when you sell your house and you could save thousands. Here’s what it takes.” by Josh Hyatt
They go on to talk about a family in Maryland who managed to sell their home back in 2004 FSBO, OK but 2004 was the height of the strongest sellers market in modern history. At that point anything would sell. Now it is 2007 and the same family thought they would try the FSBO path of selling a home again. Mortgage Information
When it comes to purchasing a New Jersey home, don't be intimidated by the words "home mortgage". A mortgage is simply a loan made to help you finance a home. Here are the mortgage options you should know about:
Conventional Mortgage
A conventional mortgage is a loan to purchase property made between a lending institution and a borrower without a third-party participant, such as the FHA or VA. Most types of conventional loans are paid off over 15, 25, or 30 years.

The Midtown Direct Real Estate Market Report
It has been two weeks since I published the last update covering towns along the New Jersey Transit Midtown Direct Line. Things are moving along though slower than most would like. Many of the towns in Morris County are still experencing a recovery in home sales as compaired to the spring market. Union County seems to be slowing a bit though moderatly priced homes still seem to be selling at a decent pace. Essex County is a mixed bag, with places like Short Hills / Millburn, & Maplewood doing fairly good, but Livingston and many of the towns to the east not doing so well.

Move.com / Realtor.com Tried To Buy ActiveRain
In a lawsuit that is detailed in today’s Inman News it was revealed that earlier this year, ActiveRain, the popular social networking site for Realtors, was about to be acquired by Move.com, the owners of Realtor.com. At the last minute, Move.com / Realtor.com pulled out of the deal.
The terms of the original deal are unclear, but ActiveRain is now seeking $33 million in damages and alleges Move.com stole “confidential information” and that it is using this information to create and maintain the new Realtor.com blog network.
This is a important and possibly high profile case for Move.com if they lose. They will probably come out of it with a tarnished reputation with the 50,000+ ActiveRain members and the damages are likely more than they would have…
