DIY home selling, For Sale By Owner, FSBO, Morris County Realtor, Morris County Real Estate, New Jersey Real EstateMoney Magazine has an article in there November 2007 Titled “You Own It. photo James Boyer

Mortgage InformationMorris County Realtor, Morris County Real Estate, Union County Realtor, Union County Real Estate, New Jersey  When it comes to purchasing a New Jersey home, don't be intimidated by the words "home mortgage". A mortgage is simply a loan made to help you finance a home. It indicates that a specific amount of money will be loaned at a specific interest rate for a specific period of time (the term of the loan). In addition, you agree to make timely payments throughout the life of the loan.

Here are the mortgage options you should know about:

Conventional Mortgage
A conventional mortgage is a loan to purchase property made between a lending institution and a borrower without a third-party participant, such as the FHA or VA. Most types of conventional loans are paid off over 15, 25, or 30 years.

Terms of a conventional loan vary…

28 Important Things That Will Make Your Home Sell Faster

photo James Boyer

Morris County, Morris County Realtor, Morris County Home Sellers, Morris County Real EstateMorris County home sellers, showing your home at it's best is critical to getting your home sold quickly and for a fair price.  Leave things undone and it is quite possible you may not get any home purchase offers at all.

1) It is extremely important to make certain that the first impression your home makes on a home buyer is the best impression your home can make. 2) Your home will never have more buyers look at it than the first three to four weeks of the listing. The reasons are simple: there are buyers out there who have seen everything available and for one reason or another, haven't bought. They are just waiting for something new to come on the market. 3) When that new property does hit the market, home buyers and Realtors both will scramble to… Read Full Post

photo James Boyer

Morris County Realtor, Morris County Real Estate, Union County Realtor, New Jersey Real Estate, Morristown New Jersey, Madison New Jersey, Convent Station, Chatham New Jersey, Summit New Jersey, Short Hills New Jersey, Millburn New Jersey, Maplewood New Jersey, New Jersey RealtorIt has been two weeks since I published the last update covering towns along the New Jersey Transit Midtown Direct Line.  Things are moving along though slower than most would like.  Many of the towns in Morris County are still experencing a recovery in home sales as compaired to the spring market.  Union County seems to be slowing a bit though moderatly priced homes still seem to be selling at a decent pace.  Essex County is a mixed bag, with places like Short Hills / Millburn, & Maplewood doing fairly good, but Livingston and many of the towns to the east not doing so well.

Want to do a little of your own real estate market research?  Check out Morris County Realtor you can do all the research you wish and you can even save searches so that when things…

My Home Listing Expired, Why Didn't My House Sell?

photo James Boyer

First, I can understand your frustration.

Don't give up. The reason your home or real estate has not sold may have nothing to do with your property itself. In reality, it may be one of the more desirable homes on the market. There are many factors that go into the timely selling of New Jersey real estate – when you're educated on all those factors and completely understand what's going on around you, it's much less stressful.

Together, we may be able to identify the reason why your real estate hasn't sold and we can discuss what we're going to do about it. Here are some facts on selling real estate in today's market

Move.com / Realtor.com Tried To Buy ActiveRain

photo James Boyer

In a lawsuit that is detailed in today’s Inman News it was revealed that earlier this year, ActiveRain, the popular social networking site for Realtors, was about to be acquired by Move.com, the owners of Realtor.com.  At the last minute, Move.com / Realtor.com pulled out of the deal.

The terms of the original deal are unclear, but ActiveRain is now seeking $33 million in damages and alleges Move.com stole “confidential information” and that it is using this information to create and maintain the new Realtor.com blog network.

This is a important and possibly high profile case for Move.com if they lose. They will probably come out of it with a tarnished reputation with the 50,000+ ActiveRain members and the damages are likely more than they would have…
