Time to walk around your house and disconnect your garden hoses and put them away.  Not only will this help prolong the life of your garden hoses, but it will help to keep the water pips that feed your outside spigots from freezing and bursting.  If you can, be sure to shut off the water supply to your outdoor spigots and then drain the water from the spigot.

If your outside water spigot is warn or not working properly consider replacing it with a frost free spigot (typical cost $25 to $50 over standard spigots)

Ryan Ward got me fired up with his call for help on the petition he has organized to try to keep the term MLS free for all Realtors to use.  Here is his call for help which should be Keep The MLS Free.

I decided to send the members of NAR's (National Association of Realtors) MLS committee a e-mail to see what sort of response I would get from them. 

What follows will be a little he said she said, but anyway here it is.

Here is a easy tip to maintain your hot-water heater, boiler and save on plumbing bills. 

Drain a few gallons of water from your hot-water heater and boiler.  This will help to clean out rust and grime that builds up in your systems.  Taking these things out will help to slow down the gradual deterioration of these systems and help them to last much longer.  Doing these simple things can also help these systems run more efficiently as well which also keeps money in your pocket.

Real Estate Agent, Are you a New Jersey Real Estate Expert?  Really??

There are many people out there calling themselves NJ Real Estate Experts, Or Morris County Real Estate Expert, Or Summit NJ Real Estate Expert or ...  But based on what?

Is there really such a thing as a NJ Real Estate Expert?  Personally I think that there is not such a person.  There are just to many differences between towns, counties, and even neighborhoods for this title to apply.

The best approach is to interview at least 3 NJ REALTORS before choosing the REALTOR that is right for your needs. 

My personal advice would be that at least one or two of them should be a REALTOR your found on the web, (especially if you are a home seller) because over 80% of the home buyers are…
