East Austin Neighborhood Profiles: French Place
Posted Jun 11, 2007 @ 9:00 pm, Viewed by 1311 Visitors, Read 1409 Times.French Place is a fully gentrified community that offers it all -- beautiful homes, affordable living, convenience, natural beauty, quiet, and atmosphere all come together seamlessly in a community that allows you to avoid congestion while enjoying all the benefits of living close to a major city. This beautiful tree-lined community is located between Manor and 38 1/2th, west of Airport Boulevard and east of I-35. Families, professionals, and young hipsters all call this place home. Once you stroll down Cherrywood street, which cuts through the center of the community, you may just fall in love with this neighborhood, too.
The French Place real estate market is like nothing else. Unlike other communities, which boast cookie-cutter homes that all look the same, French Place homes offer true style. Many are eclectic and colorful. Multicolored paint jobs, oddly shaped doors and lots, and other unique details make French Place true homes. This is a neighborhood with personality. Most homes, though, are very well cared for and look spectacular, in spite of, or perhaps because of, their eccentricity. Be sure to look for the treehouse on Walnut and Hemlock if you are in the area house hunting. It will give you a good sense of the many types of unique properties you can expect in this neighborhood. The French Place real estate market consists of many single-family homes, bungalows, and some duplexes. There are some apartments available in the Manor area as well.
French Place is conveniently located within biking distance of both Concordia and the University of Texas. Within the neighborhood, Manor offers the business and cultural locus of the community. Head here when you want to see and do everything the neighborhood has to offer. Here, you can sip coffee and wine at the very European Clementine and you can take in plays at the Vortex. Soon, a new permanent location for the Salvage Vanguard will be opened, offing even more shows. Delicious Mexican fare is available at El Chile or El Chilito on Manor. No wonder professionals, students, artists, professors, and students flock to this community -- French Place has it all.
French Place is not only hip – it’s also convenient. An H-E-B is located just across the highway and Fiesta is also available in the neighborhood for shopping trips. French Place is home to Austin’s most famous curb-side laundry service -- Home Steam is right on Manor. In December, the annual Cherrywood Art Fair brings in artists and art admirers from all over the region to celebrate some of Austin's best art.
French Place is sometimes called Cherrywood and sometimes called new Hyde Park. No matter what you call it, there is no denying that this is one of the most exciting and unique communities in the region. If you want a great lifestyle and a great home that reflects your unique nature and your true personality, try French Place real estate. The community is growing fast, so be sure to buy soon.
