Allandale, located in the vibrant Burnet Road area, offers excellent homes in a wonderful location. In the Northwest Austin area, the Allandale community is considered by many to be one of the best places in the region to raise a family. With large lots, excellent schools, and clean, safe streets, Allandale offers a welcome retreat from the city while still providing easy access to all the opportunities that Austin has to offer. In addition, this neighborhood close to MoPac offers a wealth of recreational, shopping and dining opportunities that make everyday life enjoyable.

Bordered by Mopac, Burnet, Anderson Lane, and North Loop, Allandale is a community that offers excellent properties. Many homes in the area are affordable and very comfortable. Allandale real estate consists mainly of single-family homes, most on large lots. This is one of the reasons why young professionals and growing families look to the neighborhood for excellent quality homes. In addition to great homes, Allandale boasts excellent schooling opportunities. Local public schools such as Brentwood Elementary School, McCallum High School, and Austin's Fine Arts Academy have good AP programs, plenty of extracurricular options, and an excellent reputation for quality academics.

The Allandale neighborhood itself offers plenty to see and do. Burnet Road offers everything you could want -- from classes to services to restaurants and venues for after hours. Restaurants such as the eclectic Pacha are the perfect place to grab a quick bite. Delicious Mexican fare is available at Taqueria Arandas and Curra's Grill. Austin Diner offers a great place to meet up for breakfast, while The Poodle Dog Lounge is a wonderfully relaxed bar. Sunday afternoons, be sure to check out “Chicken Shit Bingo” at Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon. If you want the best burgers in town, check out Phil's Ice House and then stop next door at Amy's Ice Cream, a landmark in Austin for more than two decades. H-E-B and the eclectic MGM Indian Foods are perfect if you are looking for a grocery shopping experience that takes you away from the everyday.

If you enjoy getting creative, there's plenty to see and do an Allandale. Clayways studio and gallery offers pottery classes for beginners to advanced students. The Shoal Creek Greenbelt and the Beverly S. Scheffield Northwest District Park offer green spaces that are perfect for recreation and exercise. The District Park has picnic and barbecue areas, a baseball diamond, a pool, and a playground in addition to green spaces. The greenbelt offers hiking and biking trails that lead you to nearby communities along meandering paths. If you're looking for something different, the Allandale Reporter website always lists what is happening in the community and makes it easy to find something enjoyable to do.
