Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World--10 days left

Amazing how time flies, but somehow, i don't think it is fast enough!

Team Eric is holding our own in the Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World contest, but threats seem to loom everywhere! The team has been staying busy building links and authority from around the web. We were lucky enough to get the support of Ryan Ward and others. Truly amazing.

We got the week kicked off right with some discussion about an SEO gathering in Costa Rica. MIke Dammann is getting ready to host one down there later this year. That got the discussion started right away!

We noticed some interesting activity going on down at Greg Boser's place and Mike Dammann pointed that out on his blog. We just wanted to make sure that it did not go unrecorded. Our team would much rather just have fun working together rather than pointing interesting happenings among competitors. (FTR- I still think he is sending the juice somewhere--got a couple of ideas)

And now another wierd happening...Morgan Carey's NOT a competitor, but his original post about the contest is rising in the SERPS...

This thing is gonna come down to a sprint at the end (most SEO contests do). The thing that I'd like to make sure at the end is that all of us take what we have learned, the friendships that we've made and have a few laughs about it. There is no point in folks holding grudges, being bitter or in anything like that.

Our point has been that much of SEO is all about the relationships. A contest is nothing to ruin them over. Have a  great one everyone and whoever wins, our hat is off to you.

Glad to see your news dispatch Eric!  Seemed like you dropped off the planet there for a while. There has indeed been some interesting movements, the next 10 days should be exciting.  Whoever wins we are all the better off for it.

Good Luck to Team Eric! It has been a good learnng experience and fun watching what everyone has done, including the ones that were against the contest and yet competing.

Posted 2 years ago

@Cal- Thanks. It has been busy here in our office. Lots going on...would never have made it without all of you r efforts! I agree that regardless of who wins, this has been a totally worthwile experience for me... BTW- Your Costa Rica commentary was HILARIOUS...too busy last week to comment--nicely done!

Eric I would love an excuse to go to Costa Rica. Never been there, but have been told multiple times it's a great place to visit.

Posted 2 years ago

I know lots of people that have been and they loved it there.  I guess I can start telling them I know the Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World - I mean Costa Rica!

Posted 2 years ago

@Ken--Never been there, but between Bramlett and Mike Dammann talking about it, I want to go!   @Cal- Yep..everyone I have talked to that's been said they'd LOVE to go back and spend some time there.

Posted 2 years ago

When is the flight?   I am ready to go!   I haven't been there either but it sounds like fun.

Posted 2 years ago

Wayne--it can't be for a little while. After this contest, I need some rest...grin. I don't mean "relaxation on the beach hanging out with Dammann" kind of rest---I mean sleep. (grin) But I am stoked to go. Will be fun. Maybe Mike will fill us in on the planned dates. Best Eric

Most people don't know this.. but Mr. Blackwell here hasn't gone to sleep since the contest started.

Posted 2 years ago

Eric can sleep on the plane!

Posted 2 years ago

Yeah, that is his "before" picture - we are looking forward to the "after" pictures with the Mountain Dew cans strewn all over the background!  Then we will submit to priceless.com for some real link juice!

Posted 2 years ago

How about I just dress up as Eric and take the plane for him

Posted 2 years ago

Don't forget, he is the designated driver!

Posted 2 years ago

Yep - gotta have the real Eric.   There is no substitute.

Posted 2 years ago

I have learned a lot from this contest - although with some of the more technical stuff (G.B.'s purported 301 redirects) I still feel like a newbie.  I've been introduced to some great new blogs that I wish I had more time to read.  I finally made my first Squidoo page(s) after all this time.  And put me in for the trip to Costa Rica - well, I think.  How long is the flight - I hate flying!

Posted 2 years ago

I hate flying too Judy, but it will be worth it!

Posted 2 years ago

I agree.  I flew to Alaska so I can handle it - but the only time I've flown over the ocean was for a brief moment while flying to Cancun.  I only started flying less than 10 years ago.  I've been trying to make up for it since.

Posted 2 years ago

Cancun is almost there - you'll be able to make it - no problem!

Posted 2 years ago

a) Sleep is overrated b) Nick, you can dress up as me if you want, but I will still be there--hehe Best to all Eric

Posted 2 years ago

Judy - I like flying over the water - looks like a softer crash to me.

Posted 2 years ago

Wayne, your comforting methods are amazing.

Posted 2 years ago

LOL!  Water might seem softer...  Did you ever see that movie with the plane at the bottom of the ocean with the passengers alive and waiting for help?  Then there's Lost - I'd freak out being stuck on that island.  Pretty much all my phobias combined.

Posted 2 years ago

Yeah the island makes me nervous - too many guys and not enough girls on this trip for that.

Posted 2 years ago

If I was stuck on the island from lost, I would be happy. I have never seen so many beautiful people (physically) on one plane.

Posted 2 years ago

Not to mention claiming a Polar Bear as a pet would be pretty neat.

Posted 2 years ago

Science fiction - I've never been on a plane where there were was more than one or two beautiful people - self included!  LOL

Posted 2 years ago

I watched the first 2 episodes of Lost - but never could really get into it.  When the "invisible" monster took out the pilot, I was kind of like WTH and kind of gave up on the show.

Posted 2 years ago

@ Lost--Never seen it. Been too busy to watch much of anything! Best; Eric

Posted 2 years ago

I never watched lost and have been told that if I wanted to start I would have to rent all the past seasons first. Plus you need to see every episode or you end up being lost. Don't have time to be that dedicated to a TV show.

Posted 2 years ago

No doubt Ken! Life's too busy for that stuff..

Posted 2 years ago

I had to dump my daughter on my parents for a day just to catch up on all the little things around the office that keep getting put off. My wife and I just stopped organizing the office and getting all the paperwork in order. We are getting audited by the state (random thing, no big deal) so all the files need to be in perfect order.

Posted 2 years ago

They are pretty tough on the paperwork now in GA.    Over the top with some stuff but I guess that keeps us all honest.   I look forward to the end of this contest.  It will be interesting to see if there is much movement right here at the end.

Posted 2 years ago

@Ken-- I am down at the office now doing some work on the new skin for my site and etc. Nowhere near complete yet...lotsa changes left to do. @Wayne- Yep. the cake is kinda in the oven for us...just wait and see... I did notice Morgan's post moving up over the last few days...hmmm Have a great Sunday evening

Posted 2 years ago

Eric your last paragraph hit the nail on the head.  It IS really about building relationships.  And you are one of those guys that people just can't not love!  Congratulations on being on top so far. I suspect you'll stay there, but with all of the great competition out there, who's knows what some of these guys and gals have up their sleeves! I'm down for going to Costa Rica.  I need a great excuse for a tax right off and some sun!

Posted 2 years ago

Holly, glad to hear you have a tax problem.  It's good to have a fun solution!  Hope to  see everyone prosper from what they have learned here!

Posted 2 years ago

@Holly; Exactly. I don't have a tax problem to speak of (grin), but Costa Rica sounds like very much fun! And as Cal pointed out...SOMEONE  has to be the designated driver...might as well be ME!
