Prospect Kentucky -- A Louisville Neighborhood profile
Posted Dec 2, 2006 @ 12:50 pm, Viewed by 781 Visitors, Read 785 Times. Are you thinking of moving to Prospect? I Here's a little something about Prospect's history, demographivs, schools and current real estate market.
Prospect Schools
Many people have the opinion that Kentucky schools (like Louisville and Propsect) are below the standards of many other areas. I have not found this to be true at all!
My favorite way to evaluate schools is to go to www.greatschools.net. They have up to date test scores on national and state standardized tests for each school as well as student / teacher ratios and other important school related information. They are a great resource and I especially recommend their option that allows you to compare your new school to your exisiting one.
Prospect Demographics
the city of Propsect was incorporated in 1974 and was allowed by the State of Kentucky to create its own city government in 1979. As of the 2000 census Prospect had just under 5,000 residents. Although it has grown steadily since then, it still maintains its small town feel and charm.
According to the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors (who gets their information from e-neighbohoods, the average income in Prospect is $83,000. The average income for households with children is just over $150,000.

Prospect Real Estate Market Outlook
As of this writing, there are 125 homes listed actively with the MLS. As with other Louisville real estate as well, there apear to be more sellers than buyers, this softness may well only last until spring. Judging by the number of buyers coming in from our website and the overall employment picture in Louisville, prices are not expected to be in decline for long--especially when measured against coastal areas such as California and Florida, where price slippage is expected by many to be much worse.
