Let me start off by saying that I don't know my fellow REW member Marc Rasmussen very well. What I will say is that what the Sarasota Association of Realtors is doing to him is unfair, deceitful, and classless.  I have always wondered if my local association of Realtors would ever be there for me if I needed them. For all these years I have had my doubts but never had any real reason to suspect that they would not hold up to their end of the bargain, much less attack one of it's fellow memebrs.

Now I know my local board is not the same as in Sarasota but that doesn't make a difference to me. If the National Association of Realtors will let one of it's member associations to do this to a Realtor and do nothing about it, that is a form of agreement to me. How do I know that one day they won't try to attack me or my site for some silly rule based on envy of my websites postion with the SERPS?

For this reason, effective November 1st 2008, my association with the Atlanta Board of Realtors will be terminated. In addition, any agent of Dwell Atlanta will not be required to join the Board. For the National Association to allow this to happen to one of it's own doesn't fly with me.

Just so you know, I will not be loosing my data feed or website. My MLS is privately owned and has no requirement to be a member of the local Board of Realtors
