Forsyth County Building permits down

Forsyth County issued 2484 building permits in the first nine months of this year, compared with 4,093 in the same period last year, according to county figures. That's the largest dip in residential building permits in a decade for the county known nationally for its rapid growth and upscale housing. In 20 counties in metro Atlanta, new permits are off an average of 30 percent. In the I-20 corridor, counties such as Carroll, Douglas and Rockdale are reporting drops of up to 42 percent, he said. Folks are certainly holding back and letting those inventories deplete. I personally see this everyday driving through the neighborhoods, and noticing that there are no new home going up in the city of Cumming.
