My wife booked our one way plane tickets for March 28 back to N. Virginia. After a 3 day stop for sight seeing in Vienna, a place I have always wanted to visit our nearly 3 year adventure would bring my family back to almost exactly where we started. We lived in Germantown, Md. about 40 minutes away from where we hope to buy our new home. Although the period we were gone seems very short, what has happened seems so enormous, especially in real estate.

My experience alone shows this dramatic change, we put our home on the market in April 2006 for $339,000 and sold in May for $330,000 I knew the market was beginning to flatten.
